Statement of Intent for Pupil Premium
Statement on the use of ‘Pupil Premium’
In 2011, the Government introduced a ‘Pupil Premium’. This is an additional sum of money provided to
schools in order for schools to raise the attainment of children from low income families who are currently
known to be eligible for Free School Meals. Since April 2012 this has been extended to include children who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last 6 years.
At Lordship Farm we have adopted a number for strategies designed to support this group of children.
These include the individual tracking of attainment in order to identify children not making good progress,
extra curricular one to one tuition, small group support, training for staff and differentiated teaching.
In addition, the school subsidises music tuition, school trips and activities and uniform for families on low
incomes.
These measures are proving successful in enabling these children to continue to make good progress.
