North Herts SRP

Welcome to our new Specialist Resource Provision (SRP).

This provision is designed to support up to a maximum of twelve children from Year 1 to Year 6 with two pupils allocated per year group, who have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), cognition and learning needs, and/or autism, who do not require a special school but do need additional, specialist support to access learning in a mainstream primary setting.

Our aim is for every child to experience success. Together, our caring team, working across the SRP and the wider school, will encourage each pupil to grow as an individual and to aspire to be the best they can be. We strive to ensure a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued, supported and inspired.

Pupils will access between 20% and 80% of their curriculum within the mainstream classroom with each child allocated to a specific classroom, and class teacher, in the main building - in addition to being part of Blossom Class in the SRP. Integration within the mainstream school is pupil dependant and tailored to their individual strengths and needs.

We look forward to working with pupils, families and staff to build a strong, inclusive community where every child can reach their full potential. The SRP align with the values of kindness, respect, safety, ambition and connected and we encourage children to be curious, be courageous and be you!

Further guidance can be found via the Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) website - click here

Application information

Applications for the SRP need to be agreed at Provision Panel led by Hertfordshire County Council's Integrated Service for Learning as part of the EHCNA or EHCP review process.

A consultation process will be led by HCC to local SRPs in advance of any child being offered a place. All communications regarding placement must be held between Hertfordshire County Council and the parent.

Visiting the SRP

Once a pupil has been agreed a place at the SRP, transition visits will take place in advance of a pupil's start date. Due to the small cohort and to avoid disruption to pupils, we are unable to accommodate potential pupil visits and parental show-rounds at this point. Please refer to our transition booklet below to seek further information about the space and facilities.

Curriculum

National Curriculum - Mainstream curriculum maps

We will align our teaching with the National Curriculum, using the KS1/KS2 curriculum maps and incorporated with an assessment framework developed by our local special school to guide our planning. This framework breaks down broader National Curriculum objectives into smaller, achievable targets. Together, these strategies will enable us to deliver a bespoke, child-centred approach to curriculum design and assessment within the SRP. In addition, we will focus on each pupil’s individual EHCP targets, which will be assessed and monitored on a half-termly basis.
